Call for Abstracts for Nurses Conference in the Bahamas

​Conference Theme: Nursing Care and Evidence Based Practices in the Ever-Changing Nursing Environment.

To include topics on Gerontology, Renal, GI, Nephrology, Cardiac, Pulmonary, Pediatrics, and more!

Keep up-to-date on new and innovative research and practices

We invite deans, directors, chairs, faculty, nurses, and academic administrators to submit an abstract for an upcoming conference. Wilson Shepard Education Associates requests submissions showcasing programs, courses, initiatives and/or evaluation strategies that characterize the conference theme and address the many changes and challenges faced in nursing. This conference for 2019 is comprised of keynote and speakers sessions on latest cutting edge research designed to offer comprehensive global discussions that address current issues in Nursing.

Abstracts should describe up to date original work whether complete or in -progress.

PRESENTATION FORMATS 

Podium Presentation
Podium presentations are allotted a 25 minutes time slot: 20 minutes to present and 5 minutes for questions and answers. Presenters are provided with a laptop computer and LCD projector. 

Poster Presentation
Poster presentations are presented on double-sided poster boards holding two (2) posters per side. All posters should be oriented in portrait format and must not be any larger than 48” H x 36” W.

PREPARING YOUR ABSTRACT FOR SUBMISSION

Each abstract should include background information and a description of methods, programs, or practices. It also should include summary recommendations for others who may be considering a similar approach. Oral presentations will feature work in-progress and/or completed research, education, and evidenced-based practice projects.

Presenters are expected to provide information, strategies, and/or tools relevant to nursing researchers, educators, and/or clinicians to advance their work.

The Objectives for the conference are:

Education
To offer creative educational strategies that address both the art and science of nursing.
To highlight leadership and excellence across the contexts of practice, education, research and innovation.

Practice
To identify opportunities and strategies for nursing practice responsiveness to contemporary social issues affecting families, such as the refugee crisis, poverty, discrimination, and global conflict.
To examine strategies for nursing practice that build on current research and technology to promote the health of patients.
To discuss the development, implementation, refinement, and evaluation of nursing practice, particularly focused on attention to identification of outcomes of nursing practice to advance the practice of nursing worldwide.

Research
To highlight research that focuses on the challenges for transforming nursing care worldwide.
To provide a forum for dialogue around major conceptual and methodological issues facing nursing researchers worldwide.
To connect researchers, clinicians, and educators in conversations that support innovative global partnerships around the art and science of nursing.

Policy

To examine the role of policy in addressing the challenges affecting contemporary families and increasing patients engagement in health care.
To identify strategies for increased participation of nurses in policy development at the local, national, and international level.
To highlight opportunities to enhance patients health and meet emerging challenges globally.


Abstract guidelines:
Abstracts must be submitted in English and online.

Abstracts must include:

  • Model / Framework, if used
  • Methods


Research: Describe design, sample, setting, procedures, measures, and analyses

  • Quantitative Study
  • Qualitative Study
  • Mixed Methods Study


Clinical or Educational or Quality Improvement Focus: Describe approach, evaluation methods
Methodological Focus: Describe approach to address issue and strategies used.

  • Theoretical Focus
  • Synthesis Focus


Results

  • Conclusions: What does the data show us?
  • Abstract text is limited to 300 words.

If selected, presenters will be required to submit additional content such as CVs for all authors, bibliography of five key sources, conflict of interest form, AND PowerPoints or photo of poster by this deadline.

Presenters will be asked to identify any potential conflict of interest related to the content to be offered (e.g., commercial interest, affiliation with a vendor, and/or receipt of royalties) and affirm that their abstract presentations will not be used to sell a particular product or service.

Presenters are responsible for all travel expense and personal expense. Wilson Shepard Reserves the right to substitute speakers, change venue, or cancel due to insufficient participants

Cancellation penalties: $75 with written notification within 2 weeks before conference.

Presenters must register for the conference.
